Open Door Schooling: St. Matthew's Parish invites parishioners of Resurrection Parish to consider our parish school yours. How do we mean that? We have decided that any parishioner from any other parish can attend our school with the exact same status as our own parishioners. That means no special enrolling status for St. Matthew's parishioners. Enrollment will be on a first come first served basis. Nor will there be a special cost advantage. Those who are active parishioners in other parishes will pay the same total amount as St. Matthew's families. And no longer will members of other parishes have to switch parishes or change their place of worship. If you are interested in top notch Catholic schooling at one of, if not, the lowest per child tuition, just contact St. Matthew's principal, Bernie Fisher at 633-5860. Christopher Ministry: The Christopher ministry is a program that was established to provide transportation to and from doctor's appointments and mass for those who are unable to provide transportation for themselves. Check out the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington's Calendar of Events at http://cdow.org/events.htm Welcoming New Parishioners: As you know, Resurrection Parish is a very welcoming and prayerful Christian Community. Many families, who are most supportive and loyal to our community now, began many years ago with a simple invitation from an existing parishioner. Our parish is growing every day and because of this it is more difficult to keep the intimate sense of community that is a large part of our identity. We will be creating an adopt-a-family program where existing parishioners will reach out to new parishioners to welcome them into the Resurrection community. If you love Resurrection and want to share your experience with new families or would like to help out in another way, please call the office . BIRTHRIGHT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Daytime support counselors and other volunteer opportunities. Call 656-7080 or . Please call the parish office (368-0146 X101) if you are

Emmanuel Dining Room is part of the Ministry of Caring and is located at 2nd and Jackson Streets in Wilmington. Hot, nourishing meals are served each day to about 150 - 200 needy men, women and children. On the 12th day of each month, 5 or 6 volunteers from Resurrection Parish work from 9:00 AM till 1:00 PM at the dining room to prepare and dish up the meals. The sign-up sheets are on the Bulletin Board in the Gathering Space. New volunteers are warmly welcome into this ministry by the "regulars". Call George and Judy Ward for further information at 610-274-8764. TELEPHONE FRIENDS: Many of us find it helpful to have someone to talk with who will really listen and keep everything confidential. A Telephone Friend is just this sort of person. St. Catherine's and Resurrection are working with Contact Delaware to recruit and train parishioners to be Telephone Friends. Classroom training will be followed by "on the job" instruction. There will also be ongoing support and back-up. After training, the time commitment will be one (1) hour or less per week calling from your home phone. Many senior citizens and "too busy" young adults have found this volunteer work to be convenient and rewarding. For information about requesting a Telephone Friend or to apply for training to become one, please call: Bill Eichelberger: 239-6426 or Cheryl Sadeghee: 761-9800 SAWTOOTH MINISTRIES: The Sawtooth Ministries has religious goods available online. This is a ministry that is done from your home at your convenience. Linens are picked up either after the last Mass on Sunday or at the beginning of the week and then returned by Friday cleaned and pressed. If we have six Sacristans it would mean only having to do this once every six weeks, or maybe even less frequently if we could get more people to sign up.
