Around The Diocese

At our baptism, he called each of us to be His disciples too. Is the Lord calling you to live out your discipleship as a religious sister or brother, as a priest or as a deacon? What signs might He be giving you? Call or write Father Joe Cocucci, Diocesan Director of Priestly and Religious Vocations (302-573-3113 or jcocucci {at} cdow.org).

Megan McKenna was here with stories unearthed and given to us. They are stories to 'make us all come true.' We have a few of her books available in the parish library for you to borrow and will soon have CD's from her talks as well. See www.meganmckenna.org .

NOVEMBER

We will be celebrating Confirmation on Sat. Nov. 22, 2008 at the 5:30 PM Mass.

Lectio Divina: We will be holding Lectio Divina every Tuesday morning at 10:00 am (until 10:30 am) in the Chapel. This is a prayer form used widely in Monasteries and many religious communities where we allow the Word given to us by God to transform our lives as we wait and be open to listen with our hearts. We will listen to the Gospel reading of the coming Sunday.

For Mass times and locations around the country, visit www.masstimes.org or call 1-800-MASS Times.

Catholic Forum: Tune in to Catholic Forum each Sunday morning at 10:05 am on AM 1150 WDEL. Catholic Forum features the proclamation of the Sunday Gospel, inspirational music and an interview segment.  Catholic Forum is a production of the Diocesan Office of Communications.

Please call the Parish Office (368-0146) if you are planning to leave the parish within the next three months or so.
REGISTRATION FORMS (BROWN ENVELOPES) ARE ON THE GREETERS' TABLE IN THE GATHERING SPACE TO THE LEFT OF THE DOORS TO THE WORSHIP SPACE. YOU CAN PICK ONE UP OR CALL THE OFFICE.

LAFF (Living After Fifty-Five): Every Tuesday 11:00 am.

CATHOLIC SCHOOL OPENINGS AVAILABLE: Are you looking for a Catholic School Education for your child for this school year? St. Matthew School, a Middle States Accredited school, has openings for students from pre-school through 8th grade. Three and four year olds can begin in a Montessori preschool that has been in operation for over 20 years. This program has expanded with full day and extended care options. Students in Kindergarten experience a mix of Montessori and traditional teaching styles with students in grades 1-8 also receiving a traditional Catholic School education along with state of the art technology experiences. Look for more information about St. Matthew School here in the church with our other literature or call the school at 633-5860 or on the web at: saintmatthewsparish.org/school.html.
